The backcountry of Chamonix is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring in the world. With its high peaks, its seemingly endless terrain and its breathtaking views, the Chamonix backcountry offers a whole new world for the climber and skier.
Chamonix Backcountry is a small and specialist company made up of a group of enthusiastic and like minded individuals who teamed together to offer you the best in the way of guiding, instruction, organisation and accommodation for all levels of off-piste skier from novices to extreme.
We offer a variety of courses as well as organise tailor made holidays for groups and private individuals. All you need to do is let us know what you'd like to do and we'll do the rest.
Skiing and climbing in the backcountry has become more and more popular but with the increase in numbers of people going off piste, it has also become increasingly dangerous. Last winter saw a rise in the number of avalanches and deaths in the alps. All of our courses include instruction in how to increase your safety whilst riding off-piste.
We run all our courses from our idyllic chalet in Argentiere, where we provide you with comfort and luxury and feed you like Kings.
We go where the best snow is. We have many years experience of choosing where to go and weÕll take you to the best snow conditions, whether this is just across the road at the Grand Montets or in the nearby resorts of Megeve, Les Contamines (France), Courmayeur (Italy) or Champex, Verbier (Switzerland).
We want you to go home counting the days till you come back.
